Laundry Room Transformation

Schrader and Co. Laundry Room Transformation

At Schrader and Company, we want to be able to show you before and after projects, some completed projects, and some interesting things about remodeling and construction. This project is a laundry room renovation in my own personal home. I’m biased, but I think it came out really nice, and I hope you enjoy seeing it.

The Project

Something that was important to us when we did this renovation was to load it up with cabinets. This is not really a huge room, but we tried to fit as much storage as we could. These ceilings are nine-foot ceilings, and when you have higher ceilings you get the option of holding the cabinets down and have them be reachable, or have them be all the way to the ceilings and have additional storage with maybe some hard to reach shelves. We chose to have the cabinets go to the ceiling. The other interesting thing about these cabinets is that the height of the base cabinets was driven by vacuum storage, so we came out, measured the vacuum and made sure it would fit into the lower cabinets.

On the other side, we have an existing washer and dryer that were originally side by side, but we decided to stack them so we purchased a stacking kit. Something important to think about when you’re stacking is that the controls end up high. To the other side of the washer and dryer, we did a few things we absolutely love. We have a marble backsplash with a stainless steel bar running across to hang shirts. We also installed a custom made drawer which pulls out and turns into a drying rack, which is an incredible feature for this laundry room.

Hopefully you enjoyed this transformation as much as we do.

Happy building and happy remodeling!
