Designed for passionate home cooks and avid entertainers, this kitchen renovation in Ballston Spa, NY was all about creating a space that feels open, functional, and beautiful. The original kitchen layout didn’t offer enough prep space or flow, so we reimagined the footprint with strategic updates that make a big impact.
The original kitchen had great bones—a large footprint that just needed to be re-imagined for today’s lifestyle. Our team relocated the washer and dryer from the basement to the kitchen, building custom cabinetry that discreetly hides the appliances while adding valuable storage. A generous island and peninsula provide ample workspace, perfect for preparing meals, gathering with family, or sharing a glass of wine with friends.
The most notable layout change involved removing the existing sink placement to allow for a long, uninterrupted counter workspace—perfect for cooking prep, serving guests, or everyday use. A newly redesigned peninsula extends the kitchen’s usable space, offering extra seating and incorporating a hidden pullout cabinet for smart, space-saving storage.
A standout piece is the handcrafted walnut coffee hutch—a client favorite—featuring flipper doors, integrated lighting, and a glass-front display cabinet. It adds warmth and character to the space while serving a practical everyday purpose.
The design palette is clean and bright, with crisp white quartz countertops, white cabinetry, and a coordinating tile backsplash. These finishes contrast beautifully with the rich walnut accents, striking the perfect balance between modern and warm.
For years, whenever I visited other people’s homes, I found myself wishing I had a space like theirs. Now I do — and I couldn’t be prouder.
