We also offer Green Remodeling for clients who are concerned about their home’s impact on the environment. To learn more about these programs, click here.

Remodeling for Tomorrow
We created our Remodeling for Tomorrow program in response to an increasing level of interest from our clients toward turning their home into a safer, easier functioning, and more comfortable home today, knowing that they will benefit even more in the future as their lifestyle changes over time. We gain insight on how to most suitably accomplish this by understanding and applying the concepts of “Green Building” in combination with the principles of “Universal Design”. Recognizing this growing need for providing often basic yet always meaningful home modifications, and by accepting our responsibility as building industry leaders, we now have five people on staff who have earned the CAPS (Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist) professional designation and one person that has earned the CGP (Certified Green Professional) designation.
Green Remodeling
To us, Green Remodeling means that we will design and construct our projects in ways that will reduce the environmental impacts of our remodeling. For example, this means that we will create building envelopes that are energy and water efficient, have high indoor air quality, and are built with sustainable materials. By applying this methodology to the construction process, we experience results that can be very beneficial as our clients enjoy more efficient homes which cost less to operate, healthier homes which means they will physically feel better, and have less of an impact on our surroundings by having a smaller environmental footprint.
Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist (CAPS)/ Universal Design
CAPS is the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) accreditation that focuses on assisting our aging population by providing building industry professionals with the tools to design and modify their client’s homes. The intended result is the creation of a safer, more easily adaptable home that is also more comfortable. Through the process of earning our CAPS designation we have further improved our understanding of the aging-in-place market. This allows us the opportunity to offer more refined products and services while having the knowledge, understanding, and capability for designing and remodeling to satisfy our client’s specific needs.
While the CAPS program was designed with the aging population in mind we quickly discovered that it can apply effectively and be of benefit to anyone who faces challenges within their home, regardless of their age. A sudden change in lifestyle can create the need for a CAPS related modification. At times there may be circumstances when proposed modifications can benefit from consultation with an occupational therapist.
