Remodeling Consultant / Project Planner
Schrader and Company Construction Services is an award-winning, nationally recognized design-build remodeling company dedicated to delivering exceptional craftsmanship and an outstanding client experience. We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and relationship-driven Remodeling Consultant / Project Planner who enjoys helping homeowners transform their homes while guiding them through one of the most important investments they will ever make.
This is not a high-pressure sales position. It is a professional consulting role that requires construction knowledge, sound judgment, excellent communication, and the ability to earn a client’s trust. Our Project Planners serve as advisors—helping clients develop realistic budgets, make informed decisions, and confidently move from concept to construction.
The right candidate enjoys solving complex problems, building lasting relationships, and collaborating with talented designers, craftsmen, and trade partners to deliver projects that exceed expectations.
About the Role
At Schrader and Company, nothing is built until trust is established and a plan is created. As a Project Planner, you are the bridge between our clients’ vision and our production team. You will guide homeowners through the planning process, helping them define scope, establish budgets, understand construction realities, and ultimately make confident decisions.
This role requires someone who can balance technical construction knowledge with exceptional people skills. Every project is different. Every client has unique goals. Success comes from listening carefully, communicating honestly, and providing practical solutions that create value for both the client and the company. While rewarding, this position is demanding. It requires initiative, accountability, organization, and a commitment to continuous learning. The people who thrive in this role enjoy challenges, take ownership of their work, and find satisfaction in helping clients achieve exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and relationship building.
- Meet with prospective clients to understand their goals, priorities, lifestyle, and investment expectations.
- Guide clients through the planning process while establishing realistic project budgets and schedules.
- Collaborate with architects, designers, and our in-house design team to develop practical, buildable solutions.
- Coordinate with trade partners and internal team members throughout project development.
- Prepare accurate project budgets and detailed scopes of work.
- Present project proposals, answer questions, and confidently guide clients through the decision-making process.
- Apply value engineering strategies when appropriate to maximize project value without compromising quality.
- Facilitate pre-construction meetings to ensure a successful transition to production.
- Maintain communication with clients throughout planning and construction while supporting an exceptional customer experience.
- Follow up after project completion to ensure long-term client satisfaction.
- Represent Schrader and Company with professionalism, integrity, and the highest ethical standards.
- Protect confidential client and company information.
- Communicate clearly, professionally, and respectfully with clients, trade partners, and fellow team members.
