We love partnering with local philanthropies who are working to improve our community and the lives of our neighbors. Earlier this year, we had the good fortune to work with City Mission of Schenectady and Schenectady County Community College Culinary Program to host a client appreciation event, and support a wonderful cause, Dress for Success.
Each year, we like to host an event to thank our amazing clients while also finding a way to give back to the community. This year, we held our event in the Van Curler Room on campus at Schenectady County Community College, which has an incredible Culinary Arts Program. John O’Connell, president of the Union of Faculty and Professionals, was kind enough to tell us more about the culinary program and all of the exciting events they hold.
We also had the opportunity to join forces with Mike Saccocio, director of the City Mission, to gather donations for the Dress for Success professional clothing drive. Dress for Success helps less fortunate men and women prepare for job interviews by providing them with professional, business attire. A polished, professional appearance can make all the difference as these brave men and women take steps toward a brighter future, and none of it is possible without the generosity of donors. Mike is a powerful and moving public speaker, and we all relished the chance to hear his thoughts on City Mission and the important work they are doing in our area.
We are so grateful for all of our clients, and for the opportunity to give back to our community. A big thank you to everyone who was able to attend, and who donated so graciously to Dress for Success. Lynn and Leigh did an amazing job planning this event, and we thank them for all of their efforts.
